To mark the start of National Tree Week some children from 2nd class walked to Corduff park to check on the progress of the 13 native tree samplings that we planted in December 2021 as part of the One Million Tree Campaign. We were pleased to see that at least 10 of those samplings are growing. We met a local who told us that alot of the older trees were cut down in the park recently because of Dutch elm disease, which is a fungus that rots the trees from the inside. This highlighted how important it is to be planting new trees.
